REX SPARES was established in 1973 as a mobile tools and equipment supplier to the automotive trade. The original business name was “Rex Agencies”.
The business gradually expanded into supplying rust replacement panels and fasteners before moving into a small shop in Ewen Street, Doubleview in the late 1970’s. Soon after, Rex Agencies was approached by a Melbourne Company called “Rare Spares” to become a distributor of their products.
The range of products quickly expanded, and within 12 months, the Ewen Street shop was outgrown and a move to Osborne Park was undertaken. At the same time, the business name was changed to “Rex Spares”, to combine “Rex Agencies” and “Rare Spares”.
REX SPARES was appointed the “Official State Distributor” for Rare Spares products in Western Australia prior to being purchased by Mike and Susanne Robinson in October 2000, and is now also known as “Rare Spares Perth”. The business has continued to expand since 1973, and has earned several awards along the way, including the “Distributor of the Year” award from Rare Spares in 1985, 2001, 2009, 2012 and 2013 In addition, we were also “runners-up” in 2006, 2007 and 2008. We were also awarded the (W.A.) City of Stirling “Quality Customer Service” and “Business of the Year” awards in 2005.
REX SPARES continues to source new products, sponsor community groups, employ local people and maintain our Quality Customer Service status.
